Entire upcoming 2019 Moto G7 family purportedly leaked in these renders

Image
We know Lenovo is preparing an entirely new Moto G7 line-up for 2019. It will be comprised of four total models, out of which we allegedly  saw one earlier this year . A fresh report not only confirms the four model names, but also brings us leaked renders for each of the variants. They are going to reportedly be the Moto G7, Moto G7 Plus, Moto G7 Power, and Moto G7 Play. All four models will feature displays with notches. The Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus will have a waterdrop/teardrop notch, which is the smaller one, while the Moto G7 Power and Moto G7 Play will bring full-fledged, wide notches. What the renders sadly reveal is that all four models will feature a relatively large bottom bezel, or chin. The Moto G7 and G7 Plus will feature a horizontal dual-camera setup, while the G7 Power and G7 Play will pack a vertical dual-camera arrangement. You can check out the renders of individual models below, just keep in mind that at this stage, being too early, these might not e

ASUS pop-up camera and punch-hole smartphone patents uncovered

Image
Every manufacturer is trying out every possible approach to achieve the perfect “full-screen smartphone”. We’ve seen manufacturers in the past use notches, punch-holes, and pop-up mechanisms just to maximize screen-to-body ratio and display real estate.  ASUS  is now among the companies joining the efforts for a full-screen smartphone with two newly uncovered patents. The first one (depicted above) describes an ASUS pop-up camera approach for a full-screen smartphone. Three versions have been depicted in the patent filing, with three different dimensions for the pop-up part. Small/narrow, medium, and large/wide. This allows the manufacturer to limit itself to only the selfie camera in the pop-up mechanism (in case of the narrow design), or to incorporate several hardware components (in the case of the wide one). The second filing (below) describes a full-screen smartphone of the sort we’ve already seen on commercially available smartphones. Just like the Samsung Galaxy A

Facebook Cryptocurrency in the works, to be used on WhatsApp

Image
A  Facebook  Cryptocurrency could be coming in the future, according to unnamed sources cited by a Bloomberg report. Said sources claim that the Facebook Cryptocurrency will be used to transfer funds via  WhatsApp , a Facebook-owned instant messaging application. India will reportedly be the first one to get the feature, and the report claims the Facebook Cryptocurrency will be relative to the U.S. dollar in order to minimize its volatility. Before you get too excited, it’s not going to happen overnight. The report mentions that Facebook is still in the strategy phase. “ Like many other companies, Facebook is exploring ways to leverage the power of blockchain technology. This new small team is exploring many different applications. We don’t have anything further to share “, a spokesperson for the company told Bloomberg. There seem to be more than 200 million WhatsApp users in India, says the report, which also cites a World Bank information according to which India is

Samsung Galaxy S10 production allegedly started

Image
This rumor is just as credible as any other Galaxy S10 rumor (or leak, for that matter) out there. What (we believe) the facts back up is information related to things that can be confirmed, like model numbers, benchmark results, and so on, though even those are to be treated with skepticism at this stage. We know the Galaxy S10 will probably have  minuscule bezels , thanks mostly to the Infinity O display, and it will bring some  special low-light camera mode . At least those are the most recent bits we’ve heard as gossip accentuates. Now, as for something we can’t verify: Samsung has allegedly started Galaxy S10 production. The information comes from Twitter and is as accurate as any other Twitter-bit. If, however, the information coming from unnamed sources is accurate, then Samsung is preparing everything for that February 20 or MWC launch event we’ve already heard about. As a reminder, the rumor mill talks about four Galaxy S10 models: a Galaxy S10 Lite, the base

Apple could bring us a new 10” iPad and a new iPad mini in 2019

Image
According to China times, Apple is working on new devices that will make the regular 9.7”  iPad  bigger, and the iPad mini  gets a refresh  after a couple of years. Ming-Chi Kuo also mentioned that we could see two new iPads in 2019. The 9.7” iPad could grow up to 10” in display and receive a new processor, plus support for the Apple Pencil. The new iPad mini could be launched during the first months of 2019. The idea is to make the 128GB models that are currently selling at $399 cheaper. The 10” version could arrive until the second half of 2019, and it could keep the price of the actual model at $329.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro can be a nice present with its new discount

Image
Some people are still in love with a great Huawei Mate 10 Pro, but maybe a  $500 price tag  wasn’t so appealing. Now the device has gotten a lower price in Amazon, and it’s a great option if you want a  new smartphone  for the holidays. Yes, it’s true that the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is in a whole different level, but the Huawei Mate 10 Pro is still a great smartphone. It includes a Kirin 970 processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, a dual Leica camera. It’s also water resistant with an IP76 rating, and it’s unlocked, well at least for GSM networks. This could all be yours for just $479.99, and before I forget, it doesn’t come with a notch.

One of the most exciting tablets could be coming from LG

Image
It’s been quite a while since we were excited about a tablet, let alone an  LG  tablet, granted, the Korean manufacturer didn’t release one in a long time. A recently uncovered patent filed with KIPO (Korean Intellectual Property Office) could be a good indication that things are about to change. The patent filed describes a nearly bezel-less tablet that also includes a fabric covert. This enables users to use it as a cradle when unfolded, according to the report that mentions the patent. Another patent filed on the same date describes a wireless keyboard that also includes a touchpad. Chances are that this accessory could be very well used with the tablet described above. LG is no stranger to such a design, since the LG Tab Book Duo from three years ago followed similar  principles . You can find the graphics and renders above and below, courtesy of LetsGoDigital. However, as with any patent filing, as exciting as it may be, it’s best to remain skeptical. Just becaus

Huawei exceeds 200 million smartphone shipments as it sets new company record

Image
Huawei  has officially set a new company record yesterday, December 23. The Chinese phone-maker was expecting to  ship 200 million smartphones  by December 25, as reported last week. However, an official company statement issued on Sunday confirms that the company not only reached the 200 million mark, but also exceeded it, setting a new company record. The success is attributed to the P20, Honor 10, and Mate 20 series smartphones. Huawei is enjoying a tremendous momentum which fueled an incredible growth. in 2010, it only shipped 3 million units, just for it to manage a growth to 153 million units in 2017. We’re now seeing Huawei exceed 200 million units for this year, and a report last week predicted a  20 percent or larger growth  for next year. In August, Huawei  managed to grab the second spot from Apple , and it’s pretty clear that the Chinese phone-maker has set its sights on the first spot, currently occupied by Samsung.
